Richard Seib reports that we need to add 1-2 schools to our BUG program. Lincoln, despite all our efforts, elected not to continue. BUG usually covers grades
3-5, but we have had some variations on that. Let Richard know of any prospects, giving him contact names and phone numbers.
The Southwind Division Kiwanian of the Year
will be announced at an Oct. 16 luncheon at
noon at the Tropicana, in the Las Vegas
Room. The cost is $9. Please contact Chris Harp to let her know you're coming. Steve Page and Carl Linge updated us on our participation in Kiwanis’ Eliminate MNT program. Kiwanis’s goal is to raise $110 million over 5 years, partnering with
UNICEF to actually deliver the vaccine. It
started in 39 countries, and successfully completely enough vaccinations to lower this to
only 24 to go. GRK pledged to be a model
club, meaning that we promised to raise
$82,500——AND WE’VE REACHED OUR
GOAL!! We’re currently at $94, 693, protecting some 52,670 lives. And of course, we cannot stop there….we’ve now pledged
to support gold club status, to raise $110,000. A very generous GRKiwanian has agreed to
provide matching funds up to $10,000 through the end of November. If you
were contemplating making a donation, now
is the time to double your impact.
Thanks go to Zeller recipient Wayne Parke for his $1250 donation to the cause.
Pease note that the Weinbach and Eastland clubs have joined forces. They meet at Methodist Temple on Lincoln Ave at noon on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.
