Meeting Cancellation Policy - Green River Kiwanis will not meet when Evansville is under a travel advisory.

Consider visiting the Westside Kiwanis' booth during the Fall Festival!

The Dream Center is asking for Green River Kiwanis to donate bags of candy for their Halloween party.  The bags should be individually wrapped pieces.  Terry Davis will be collecting at our regular scheduled meetings.

Green River Kiwanis welcomes its newest member, Marshall Ray!

Green River is striving for 100% participation in the Eliminate Project.  Please consider donating.  For more information see Dr. Carl Linge.

A special shout out to Duane Gilles who helped raise more than $100,000 for Water for People.  The concert was a great success!

The Dream Center needs help parking cars for the Fall Festival. They are looking for help on Tuesday the 6th, Friday the 9th, and Saturday the 10th.  Contact Jeremy Evans or Gene VanStone for more info.

The October board meeting is scheduled for October 9th. It’s held at Café 111, at 7:00 a.m. The address is 111 S. Green River Rd.

Carl Linge and Steve Page gave us an up-date on Kiwanis’ Eliminate project. For new GRKiwanians, this is a 5 year project in which Kiwanis committed to end maternal neo-natal

tetanus. The newborn with tetanus suffers terribly. A series of 3 innoculations, costing  $1.80, prevents this for all future births. Kiwanis pledged to raise $110 million to fund this, with UNICEF providing the delivery of the vaccine. To date, $100 million has been raised, but the 5 years is up at the end of this year. GRKiwanians have been very generous! The initial goal was $82,500—the current total raised is $167,000!! This equates to saving 93,000 lives and puts us in the top 50 of 7700 clubs worldwide. We’d love to have 100% participation, so if you can give as little as $5, see Carl or Steve soon. In providing his inspiration for this project, Carl quoted Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.”
